Interesting fly, interesting pose, but IMO it needs more illumination on the face side. I think that more noise reduction on wing is necessary. And finally the focus plan is not so deep or maybe there is an over treatment of image. If you try to rework the picture a bit can be fabulous!

Can one get closer than this? An excellent macro! I love that "big" nose LOL Wonderful DOF and sharpness for the circumstances! Would be great if you shared the camera settings (ie EXIF-values) with us. Interested in which equipment/lense you have used and also exposure time, aparture value and ISO. Maybe post a slightly smaller version (600-675 pixel height for example). Edit: Thanks for sharing!

@andrea It's indeed unfortunate about the face, I lightened it a bit for you. Not sure what you mean about the focus plane. The back half of the fly is not in focus if that's what you're referring to. It's a tight DOF even at F22 with my setup.
